Monday Morning Meditation

This video is 1 minute of rushes bending gracefully in the breeze over a peaceful lake.

I hope you enjoy these brief moments of beauty!

While returning from dropping the kids off at school I ran into my friend Kwame who is also interested in meditation. He said “I was using Deepak and Oprah’s 20-minute meditations, for 21 days, but as a working parent, it’s often more time than I can commit.” He mentioned that the one-minute video meditations on this blog are useful for just that reason.

Oprah and Deepak’s meditation cycles are wonderful and easy to use. They are especially great for new meditators who want clear guidance and nuggets of inspiration every day from these two spiritual leaders. And participation is free!

And here are a few moving words on the power of nature from Anne Frank’s diary: The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.

  1. Great advice. We spend too much of our time indoors, working at a desk or commuting in a car or train. Getting outside is very beneficial. The dirt under our feet can remind us of where we’re all headed, and the fresh air that fills our lungs can remind of of what we have now.

  2. I completely agree! Even just the shortest of walks outside brings me back down to earth and gives me some much needed perspective when dealing with problems or anxiety. It is when we are inside that we tend to isolate ourselves, even in a room full of people.
